UpperClass Creator Program Manager
About UpperClass
UpperClass helps universities turn their current students into authentic student creators who produce and distribute content that supports recruitment. Our implementations are designed as 90-day, fully managed launches, typically starting with a focused cohort of student creators and progressing from strategy and recruitment through onboarding, content production, distribution, and program closeout.
The Role
We are looking for an UpperClass Creator Program Manager to own the day-to-day project management of an UpperClass 90-day implementation.
You will be the person responsible for making sure the university and its student creator program move forward on time, creators are recruited and onboarded, sessions happen as planned, and the overall implementation delivers what was promised to the client.
This is a client-facing, highly organized, hands-on role. You will work closely with university stakeholders, UpperClass internal teams, student creators, and external Creator Mentors.
The ideal person is a strong project manager who is also comfortable working with students, facilitating meetings, coordinating people, and making things happen.
What You'll Own
1. Strategy & Client Kickoff — Stage 1
Lead the initial strategy session with the university.
You will work with the client to understand their objectives, target audiences, recruitment markets, brand voice, creator goals, and campaign priorities.
Whenever available, the session should include the university's CEO, Chief Content Creator, or most senior content/marketing stakeholder.
Your responsibilities include:
- Preparing and facilitating the strategy session
- Capturing the client's goals, priorities, and requirements
- Translating the discussion into a practical implementation plan
- Aligning the client on timelines, responsibilities, communication, and expectations
- Creating the initial campaign and implementation calendar
- Ensuring the university is ready to move into creator recruitment
2. Creator Recruitment — Stage 2
Own the project management of the creator recruitment process.
You will coordinate with the university and relevant UpperClass team members to recruit and select the student creator cohort.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing recruitment timelines and deliverables
- Coordinating outreach, screening, and interviews
- Tracking creator applications and status
- Ensuring the agreed creator cohort is selected on schedule
- Keeping the university informed of recruitment progress
- Escalating recruitment risks or delays early
3. Creator Onboarding — Stage 3
Own the onboarding process for selected creators.
You will ensure creators are properly activated, briefed, trained, and ready to begin producing content.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling onboarding activities
- Coordinating creator communication
- Making sure creators understand expectations and campaign requirements
- Managing onboarding attendance and completion
- Coordinating creator briefs and training
- Ensuring the first submissions are moving into production
- Tracking creator engagement and following up with inactive creators
4. Creator Mentors
A key responsibility is building and managing the Creator Mentor network for each project.
You will identify, recruit, and coordinate suitable Creator Mentors who can teach and support student creators through Sessions 1–5.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying potential Creator Mentors
- Evaluating their fit for the university and creator cohort
- Recruiting and confirming mentors
- Coordinating availability and scheduling
- Briefing mentors before each session
- Making sure mentors have what they need to deliver effectively
- Managing communication between mentors, UpperClass, the university, and creators
- Ensuring all five sessions are properly staffed and delivered
- Tracking attendance and escalating issues when a mentor becomes unavailable
5. Project Management Across the 90-Day Implementation
You will act as the project owner for the implementation.
Your job is to keep the entire project moving from kickoff to close.
This includes:
- Maintaining the project timeline
- Running project check-ins
- Tracking milestones and dependencies
- Coordinating internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining action items and deadlines
- Escalating blockers quickly
- Keeping the client informed
- Making sure deliverables are completed to the expected standard
- Maintaining project documentation
- Ensuring the implementation finishes on schedule
6. Content Production Coordination — Stage 4
Once creators are onboarded, you will project manage the transition into ongoing content production.
You will coordinate campaign schedules, creator activity, mentor support, client feedback, and internal UpperClass resources so that content production continues on a consistent rhythm.
A background in content creation, film, video production, cinematography, video editing, scriptwriting, photography, social media content, or related creative disciplines is a strong plus.
You do not need to personally be the primary editor or filmmaker, but you should understand good content and be able to coach creators, communicate creative direction, and recognize what makes student content authentic, engaging, and platform-ready.
7. Coordinate With Downstream UpperClass Teams
You will coordinate with the people responsible for later stages of the implementation, including:
- Content Hub / Platform: publishing, moderation, embeds, and syndication
- Recruitment Partners: amplification and performance marketing
- Lead Delivery: lead capture, qualification, CRM routing, and reporting
- Conversion: lead nurture, application support, and enrollment conversion
Your responsibility is to make sure the handoffs between these teams are clear and happen on time.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Creator Program Manager will make an UpperClass implementation feel organized, proactive, and effortless for the client.
By the end of the 90-day implementation:
- The strategy has been successfully translated into an execution plan
- The agreed creator cohort has been recruited and onboarded
- Creator Mentors have been identified and Sessions 1–5 delivered
- Campaigns and creator activity are running consistently
- The client has clear visibility into progress
- Risks and blockers are identified early
- Required handoffs to platform, recruitment, lead, and conversion teams happen smoothly
- The project closes with the agreed implementation completed and properly handed over
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organized and excellent at managing multiple moving parts
- Comfortable owning projects from kickoff to completion
- Confident communicating with university executives and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working directly with students and creators
- Strong at follow-up and making sure people deliver
- Naturally proactive rather than waiting for instructions
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and training sessions
- Good at building relationships and recruiting external mentors
- Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
- Passionate about education, content, creators, or student communities
Creative & Content Background — Strong Plus
Candidates with experience in any of the following are especially encouraged to apply:
- Content creation
- Film and video production
- Cinematography
- Video editing
- Scriptwriting
- Photography
- Directing
- Social media content production
- Short-form video / TikTok / Reels / YouTube
- Creative direction
- Storytelling
The strongest candidates will combine project-management discipline with creative instincts — someone who can keep a 90-day implementation on track while also understanding what great student content should look and feel like.
Nice to Have
- Experience in project management, account management, education, marketing, community management, or creator programs
- Experience working with universities or international education organizations
- Experience managing events, workshops, or training programs
- Experience coordinating creators, instructors, ambassadors, or communities
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders and time zones
Compensation
Fixed fee per project.
Each engagement is a 90-day UpperClass implementation, with compensation agreed on a project-by-project basis depending on scope and complexity.
This is a project-based role rather than a traditional salaried position, making it suitable for experienced project managers, consultants, operators, community leaders, and education or creative professionals.
The Person We're Hiring
We're looking for someone who can take a university project and say:
“Give me the goal, the timeline, and the people — I'll make sure it gets done.”
And ideally:
“I'll also make sure the content is actually good.”
